Welcome to the LEPSE !

LEPSE, the Laboratory for Plant Ecophysiology under Environmental Stress, conducts research aimed at supporting the emergence of more water-efficient and climate-resilient agriculture.

The objective of LEPSE is to study the responses of plants to drought and high temperatures and to explore their genetic variability, between or within the same species. These responses are formalised and then integrated into models that make it possible to evaluate the performance of current or future cropping systems, species and varieties according to future climate scenarios.

Experiments and measurements carried out on plants: architecture and modelling, gas exchange and photosynthesis, dissection of ears of corn, measurement of soluble sugars and starch, growth and development, stomatal density, etc.
