Aude Coupel-Ledru, INRAE Laurier 2025: when every drop of water counts

LEPSE is proud to announce that Aude Coupel-Ledru has received an INRAE Laurier 2025 in the Young Scientist category, recognizing the excellence of her scientific career and her commitment to sustainable agriculture.

LEPSE is proud to announce that Aude Coupel-Ledru has received an INRAE Laurier 2025, recognizing the excellence of her scientific career and her commitment to sustainable agriculture.

A specialist in plant ecophysiology, Aude Coupel-Ledru has established herself as a leading figure in the study of water use by plants. Her career, marked by experiences in France and abroad, has led her to explore the mechanisms that enable crops to cope with drought and climatic constraints. She develops innovative approaches, combining experimentation, genetics, and modeling, to understand how every drop of water can be optimized by the plant.

Her work at LEPSE aims to identify adaptation levers to improve crop resilience in the face of climate change. Notably, her research has shed new light on the role of nocturnal transpiration, stomatal conductance, and the interactions between genetics and environment in water use efficiency. Her involvement in collaborative projects and her openness to interdisciplinarity make her a key player in the agroecological transition.

This INRAE Laurier not only acknowledges the quality of her research, but also her ability to share knowledge, bring people together, and innovate to address major agricultural, food, and environmental challenges.

Congratulations to Aude Coupel-Ledru for this distinction, which honors the scientific excellence of LEPSE.
